About NET/SET-Economics

The National Eligibility Test, also known as UGC NET or NTA-UGC-NET, is the examination for determining the eligibility for the post of assistant professor and/or Junior Research Fellowship award in Indian universities and colleges.

UGC NET Career Scope as Assistant Professor/Lecturer

Becoming an Assistant Professor or Lecturer in any Indian university is most preferred job opportunity by UGC NET qualified candidates. The NET candidates who choose this option get decent salary packages in comparison to other jobs.

NET/SET-Course Duration

6 Month- June & December 

Age Limit:
The minimum eligible age limit by the exam authorities has been set to 28 years for general category.
A relaxation of 5 years is given to the candidates from reserved categories.
No maximum age limit is prescribed for Lectureship or Asst. Professorship.

Master’s degree from a recognized University

UGC NET Exam Pattern 

As mentioned above, UGC NET is an online exam conducted as a Computer-Based Test (CBT). The exam contains two papers that candidates need to complete in a duration of three hours. Both paper-I and -II contain objective-type questions and it is mandatory for candidates to attempt questions from both the papers.
